i am thinking of purchasing this ebook..it looks good. Question for you…do you address photos shooting of sports?? Especially, indoor sports…what setting…ugh sometimes i get blurred shots, sometimes the lighting makes things look green or pixel-led…ha ha but not blurry!!! what am i doing wrong?? can you or your book help??? thanks!!!
beautiful shots by the way…love the children on the rocking chairs!!!
I don’t specifically address sports photography. However I do address how to get a fast shutter speed in order to capture fast moving subjects. I also address coloring issues like the photo being too orange or too blue and I address why your pictures would look too pixelated. As far as the greenish tint to your indoor sports shots…that could be the type of lighting that is used in gymnasiums and can be corrected by adjusting your white balance or even corrected in post processing using your editing software.
So the short answer is that I don’t specifically address sporting shots but I think the things that I do address would answer your questions.
beautiful photos! i love taking pictures with my canon point and shoot digital, but i just recieved an 35mm Pentax SLR as a hand me down. I’m totally lost on it. I was just wondering if I would be able to use your book to get to know my camera, or is your book strictly for DSLR users? Thanks!
Great question! I used to shoot with a 35mm and I loved it!!! To be honest, I feel it’s actually a little easier to get a “good” exposure with a 35 mm than with a digital slr. Digital can be so sentive!
Okay, to answer your question…Yes, I do believe you will benefit from my book when you have a 35mm. Most of my info will transfer beautifully to using a 35mm. I’ve also included a lot of information on exposure, composition, what to do during the shoot …all things that are universal.
I have had about 3 encounters with a DSLR but I love taking pictures so I asked for one for Christmas. I’m really excited to learn to use it and cant wait to take up photography more of as hobby then anything else. I know nothing about lenses or anything so am a little anxious about what to do. I discovered your blog while poking around the internet and I wanna get a book like this to learn the basics and be able to take really good quality pictures as well. Is this book good for a brand new beginner like me or is it necessary to have some previous experience? Do you recommend something else in addition to this to help get started?
Hi Julie!
Great questions…yes, this is geared toward a new beginner. I talk about lenses and why I use the lenses that I use. You won’t need any other books to learn exactly how to use your camera. It also has some intermediate photography in there so as you move on you will still be able to learn from the book. I laid out the book in a simple easy to understand format so it should be an easy read. Good luck and please let me know if you have any questions while you are reading. Check out my blog as well for many other photography tips and hints. http://www.kevansphotography.blogspot.com
